Happy Birthday Maria

I know a ladies age is always a touchy subject. That being said, i hope that my sister in law (Maria Hagelin) will allow me to congratulate her in a not so private way on her 40th birthday today? Age is only a number Maria and you wear that number effortlessly.

Of course celebrating such a special day with a party, is all part of the occasion. With that in mind Anna and a few dozen (slight exaggeration for effect here) of Marias closest friends decided that a night out on the town was called for. Saturday night was chosen and preparations began to ensure a night fitting this milestone in Marias life would be enjoyed by all. In true Sunne fashion the evening would begin with everyone meeting in her house. Eating some food and drinking themselves stupid to save money on the extortionate cost of night club wine (another very, very slight exaggeration).

There is a saying in the UK that to assume is only to make an ass of u and me! One would assume that in such a great little place like Sunne with so many hotels and potential night time hot spots, that a dozen beautiful women, dressed to the nines and ready to dance the night away would be spoiled for choice? (Hee haw Hee haw) Think again, not one place is going to be open. All that lipstick and perfume, the beautifully styled hair and perfectly toned bodies snuggled into designer outfits (big time exaggeration here) has nowhere to strut its stuff.

Shame on all you owners of Sunne nightlife, to close on mass and not have even one place open is scandalous. How do you expect the population of Sunne to expand the way the community chiefs want if you guys shut down places that can potentially be full of drunken woman (Joking of course)?

With panic building last night I heard Anna on the phone discussing with one of the girls whether they should go to Torsby and party there? Is that what its come down to, if you want a good night out in Sunne you go to Torsby?

I know that it’s very cold right now (no exaggeration here at all) and that its often hard to draw people out of their warm and cosy, beer and wine (from Germany) filled houses. That is no excuse! Its time that a little more thought was put into what Sunne needs in the way of night life, including at least one good restaurant. No disrespect to the places already open but the choice between pizza and Chinese is wearing a bit thin, no matter how delicious it may be.

I don’t believe that the way to go is simply to shut up shop. Im sure with some innovative thinking and the creating of a nice atmosphere, the people of Sunne would come out in numbers.

This place is full of some of the most forward thinking businessmen I’ve ever met, someone must have some idea how to solve this problem?

Thinking off the top of my head, maybe some form of members club, with an invitation policy where each member can bring a guest who can then join herself/himself? You guys know better than me, all I know is that this weekend there are going to be some disappointed women in Sunne and that’s not good. Especially, when I live with one of them.

Let me know your thoughts on this, or, any other subjects you would like to draw attention to. Wrap up warm it´s looking very frosty out there.

David
